Dallas temple & Doll house

This temple is where Gene and I were married 14 years ago.

My best friend Amy Doll and her kids.  We've known each other since we were 13 years old.  Through high school, both went to BYU, both went on missions at the same time, and can somehow still keep track of each other.  I love picking up the phone to talk and picking up right where we left off. Thanks for the great conversation, thanks to your kids who played so well with mine....and for the wonderful cookies!

Aloha

Gettin' ready to swim/play at the waterpark.

Ready to party.....we all can say ALOHA!

Jacob and Uncle David are the first brave ones to go down the huge half-pike waterslide.
The ride's over .....Jake's still holding on tight.  "THAT WAS AWESOME!"

He's big enough to ride.  But, is he brave enough?.....YES!

Emily and Daddy do the same ride.....he lost his hat.

The big bucket dumps on his head.

Thanks so much for the" best time ever! " It really was a perfect evening.

Fun at Darryl & Cherie's

Finally found a pool.  The kids spent most of their time in there.  The bleeding toes were evidence that they'd rather be in the water than anywhere else.

Thanks Maddie for playing with us for so long.

Jacob was feeding /trying not to feed Lucy the dog marshmellows.

Uncle Darryl taught us all how to make our own marshmellow gun.

It only took a few moments to put them together and then it was war time.

It ended up being everyone against Gene and Darryl.  It's hard to shoot a marshmellow gun while you are laughing...because when you suck in air....the marshmellow comes with it....and ends up in your mouth.

Nice form Maddie.  She was a good shot.

Gene realized the pvc pipe (uncut) worked much better.  It could even reach across the pool.
After this the boys went to play laser tag.  The young girls stayed in and had a movie/pizza night and the moms went downtown to the Bijou theater to see Midnight in Paris. Too much good fun and food rolled into a couple of days.
Too many fun things to do....jumping on the trampoline, swinging on the tree swings....

Remembering the Alamo ....Jacob says "what's the big deal about this old building anyway?"

Didn't have time to read all the history markers or go inside since Uncle Darryl was driving around the block while we posed.......so, Jake, just pay attention in history class when you talk about the Alamo.

Definately had to grab a boat tour ride on the Riverwalk.

The original taco bells....
Cosmic bowling with the gang.....Tara beat Bradley in the first game ...she noticed he didn't like to lose to an 11 yr. old girl.

Super cool lights on the shoe laces.  Thanks so much Grant ...we are glad we got to see you at work and that you could share your $ 0.25per game price!

Emily trying to keep little Jaxson happy while all the crazy loud music was blaring and bowling balls crashing.

This one was to test the lighting....but, I just  had to post it.  Thanks Cherie

This was most of us...and sorry not in focus.  We had an assistant take the picture...who snapped too soon.

This one everyone is clearer....but time for silly faces.

Most of the Darryl/Gene Borden cousins.  Bradley went off to work....But, here is (starting at the top) Grant, Chase, Rachael, Brett,Jacob, Madison, Tara, Sara, Jaxson and Emily.  Thanks so much Bordens for an absolutely fun, filling and happy parital reunion.

San Antonio-temple

We'd not ever seen the San Antonio temple because it was built after we moved away.

The Giant Justin Boots outside Northstar Mall ....drive down the road and "you can't miss 'em!"

Everything's big in Texas.

The grey wall behind us should be flowing water...but, it was turned off.  Still, it was a beautiful all around the temple.

The stained glass windows were enormous and so pretty.

So, we had a little bit of  a hard time finding our first house that Gene and I rented in 1997...but, luckily we found it because our name was still on the mailbox!

We took picture so next time we go back, we'll be able to find it again.

A proud Madison Maverick.  The statue was still there out front of the school....but, the rest was unrecognizable.  There were new buildings where our marching band used to practice.

My house that I lived in when I was in HS....There was a jungle out front there used to be just one tree.....it was hard to find too.

The thing I learned this week.....my perceptions/memories are far from the current realities.
