Emily's class had a field trip to Safety City. A miniature city of Knoxville for kids to learn safety laws for pedestrians, traffic and fire. She and I had a great time. There was lots of sunshine and I actually learned a thing or two. I was also reminded to get a fire extinguisher for the kitchen and replace my smoke detector batteries. The kids got to drive minature cars and ride bicycles around this mini city. They had to obey the stop signs, stop lights, railroad crossings, and yields. It was pretty tricky. Emily actually got in a "car accident" and recieved a "citation" (25 second break) from the Safety City Cop. Looks like we will need a few more lessons before taking her on the real road.

Safety City

The easter bunny thought ahead this year and found bathing suits and flip-flops a suitable gift for easter baskets.... threw in a few jelly beans and a movie and called it good. One thing he didn't think of was how difficult it is for a Borden child to change out of a bathing suit on a very sunny warm day and get into a white shirt and tie to go to church.
Spring has sprung
Rhythms Festival
Emily and friend Anyah under the Kid's Bop sign
Jacob and Altin after the show.
Jacob and Emily put on a show with the 1st and 2nd graders that was called a Rhythm festival. It was very coincidental that both of their classes were assigned the parachute.
The camera doesn't take good pictures in the dark...but, here is our attempt. They had a fun time and did a fine job.
