Howdy Y'all!  Cowboys and Indian themed Blue and Gold this week. They had real saddles on piano benches for the kids to pretend to ride.

If he could wink, he would have!

Jacob's baptism

Jacob had a terrible day Thursday.  He felt sick in the morning then had to call me at noon to bring back another pair of pants because he sat in gum.  At 2 he had to call me again because he was the bathroom monitor and was the first one in to check the stalls and slipped.  He fell face first into an inch of water in the bathroom.  So, I had to bring an entire wardrobe change.  Then he got so mad on the playground that he punched a girl who was making fun of him.  Needless to say we needed a "do over".  After we talked about how baptism helps us start over, he was so happy. 

He said he felt alone at night and I reminded him that he was surrounded by things given him by people who love him.  Above him was hanging the lion painting by his uncle Jonathan, He had a pillow from me.  He had his baby blanket made by my friend Amy D., he had his puppy given to him by Christopher and he was in Harry Potter pajamas that grandma R. had given him.  He said then he felt surrounded by love.  Thanks to everyone who, even from a distance, loves Jacob.

A great week

It's been a beautiful week.  Starting off Sunday Jacob had his baptismal interview. We've decided to combine the baptism with friend Andrew (who's birthday is this week.)  Here's the picture we used for the program.

Gene bought me roses - for Valentines. We met for lunch at Makino's Japanese Buffett.  Coconut shrimp was the highlight.  So glad to be married to him all these  years.

Emily's gift was ....she got her braces off....surgery has healed.  They gave her a bag of candy that she couldn't eat while she had braces on. 

Picture of stitches mostly healed.  Last week it was too yucky to share.  She was a trooper....and now is very happy and smiles alot.

Too much glitter

Is there such a thing as too much glitter?  After yesterday, I would say "YES!"
The photos couldn't capture the sparkle of this house after 12 girls dressed in pink and gold sprinkled as much glitter and candy sprinkles they could.....we stood back and just laughed at the sight.

Bottom line is ....Emily and Anna had a great birthday.

Birthday season

Jacob's birthday was Friday and we had Emily's party yesterday.  So, we've had alot of cake this weekend....and eaten it too.

Here is Jacob's birthday book he got from school (since he loves to create things out of his food, we thought this one was appropriate.)  A friend from church always tries to get him to smile and so made him this cake and surprised him for his birthday.

The best part was getting in the ticket blaster and grabbing all the tickets he could hold.

It was an easy party for Mom and tons of fun for the kids. 

Now on to the first day of scouts and baptism next week.

Spring is in the air....I can tell because my eyelids are itching like crazy.  It's been warm enough to let us think it's coming, but It's all a trick, I know.
There will be more snow...and that's a good thing because I love my days off.

This week was the boosterthon, kids running around in circles making money for more playground equiptment.  There were several young guys at the school who had way too much energy who taught the kids about leadership skills.  After the kids came home from school on Thursday and were talking about them.  Gene said, "You know inside those guys are real people.".....all this time he thought they were mascots or something. 
Emily had a frenectomy( you can google it if you want to see what that is....warning to those that get queasy....don't look!) done on Friday.  She is recovering well.  She got a little anxious after getting the laughing gas.  She kept saying she wanted to go home (before the dr. even came in.) She had 2 nights of great sleep.  She will get her braces off on Valentine's day the 14th....and then have a retainer.  We will then have one done and 2 to go.....Jacob will be close behind.
