Spring is here in Knoxville. It's been 70+ for 3 days now. Rain and lower temperatures will come this week, but, we are happy we've been able to open up the house to allow flow and eat dinner on the deck! After 4 trips to the doctor, 10 days for 3 of us on antibiotics and over $200 in co-pay and perscriptions, we are happy to say after 2 weeks, everyone is now healthy. It's temporary, but it's ok for now.
I was so excited for the warmer weather, I went shopping and found such cute dresses for Easter this year, only to realize it's still a month away.
Gene had a fun birthday. We went to Shoney's (fairly kid friendly) for dinner. We made him special birthday cards, and got different colored carnations for every year since his birth. But, I promised I wouldn't tell how many flowers that is! We gave him a gift certificate for a massage at the European Body Spa, since rest and relaxation is really what he wants about now. He's also going to a War Hammer Gaming weekend in Atlanta on Friday with some brothers. He's been working hard lately and we're glad he can relax a little.
Tara's writing sentences now, not always spelled correctly, but sounded out. I had her write her letter "J" 10 times for homework. I came back and looked at her paper and 2 "J"s were written and at the top was "Mom, plis wil you make me stop wrkin." I gave her a break and an "a" for effort. Emily had a fun play date with her friend Samantha. The daffodils were out so we took some pictures out side. I'm glad I don't have allergies, cause there is definately spring in the air.
Tara got her hair cut. I love it short and it's so much easier to take care of. But, she came out of the chair and looked at me and said "I look like Willy Wonka". It's hard to keep the smiles in around here. Jake got his hair cut too...he didn't move in the chair....it was great, no sucker in the wet hair again, and Mom didn't yell at him to sit still. He's graduated to barber visits, yeah!
Have a great week every one.
