March 19th

we made it thru a weekend without dad. He made it back from Atlanta but has a bad cold. It's typical, he gets a break from work, and he thinks it's time to be sick! We are at the starting end of our spring break. We thought about going to visit IOWA for a week, but didn't really leave much time to prepare...so, sorry we will catch you later hopefully during the summer. Happy birthday week to Kayla! How old are you now? Your'e hitting double digits now, right? We had a fun St. Patrick's Day as you can see I do love the color green! Got some funny shots of the kids and their after-school snack that day. I substituted Emily's primary class today. I take back what I said, RS really is a piece of cake after 6 very loud, very active 3 and 4 yr. olds. Tara & Emily were asked to be the "reverent children" that stand up on the stand 10 min. before the sacrament meeting starts. They were great...Emily didn't want to sit down. The bishop had to kick her off. She was smiling and having a great time with that view. They get to do it again next Sund. I took my midterm Fri. and I think i did well. School is a great thing to keep me going. Hope everyone is well. Enjoy the first of spring!

March 12, 2006

Spring is here in Knoxville. It's been 70+ for 3 days now. Rain and lower temperatures will come this week, but, we are happy we've been able to open up the house to allow flow and eat dinner on the deck! After 4 trips to the doctor, 10 days for 3 of us on antibiotics and over $200 in co-pay and perscriptions, we are happy to say after 2 weeks, everyone is now healthy. It's temporary, but it's ok for now.
I was so excited for the warmer weather, I went shopping and found such cute dresses for Easter this year, only to realize it's still a month away.
Gene had a fun birthday. We went to Shoney's (fairly kid friendly) for dinner. We made him special birthday cards, and got different colored carnations for every year since his birth. But, I promised I wouldn't tell how many flowers that is! We gave him a gift certificate for a massage at the European Body Spa, since rest and relaxation is really what he wants about now. He's also going to a War Hammer Gaming weekend in Atlanta on Friday with some brothers. He's been working hard lately and we're glad he can relax a little.
Tara's writing sentences now, not always spelled correctly, but sounded out. I had her write her letter "J" 10 times for homework. I came back and looked at her paper and 2 "J"s were written and at the top was "Mom, plis wil you make me stop wrkin." I gave her a break and an "a" for effort. Emily had a fun play date with her friend Samantha. The daffodils were out so we took some pictures out side. I'm glad I don't have allergies, cause there is definately spring in the air.
Tara got her hair cut. I love it short and it's so much easier to take care of. But, she came out of the chair and looked at me and said "I look like Willy Wonka". It's hard to keep the smiles in around here. Jake got his hair cut too...he didn't move in the chair....it was great, no sucker in the wet hair again, and Mom didn't yell at him to sit still. He's graduated to barber visits, yeah!
Have a great week every one.
