Well, we are happy but haven't been too healthy. We finally took Jake to the Dr. and he has an ear and a sinus infection. Tara went Friday and has a sinus infection too. (If they would just learn to clear their throats and blow their noses....we wouldn't have this trouble). Emily is the only one who has been well. But, she said on her way to preschool Thurs. "Mom, I can't go to school, because my friends will be sick of me." Meaning she would make them sick....so funny. Ironically the kids' well visits were scheduled for Fri. but they all went in anyway. Everyone is growing like crazy...but is doing well. Saturday was Emily's party. She had 8 out of the 9 show up that were invited. She was bouncing off the walls. The kids were really good. None of the Moms stayed, so Tara was my great helper. We played pin the fin on Nemo...We tried a race with Dori and Nemo thru the jelly fish (it was supposed to be overhead, under leg race). But, they were all very confused. So, we did the chicken dance, limbo and hokey pokey. The funny thing was, we got Nemo jelly candies to go on Emily's cake. So, I was intending on making a blue sea cake. I dyed the batter blue and baked the cake while Emily was at preschool Friday. When she came home she was ready to help decorate it...but insisted on having a pink cake with purple sprinkles. So, it turned out to be a very colorful, interesting cake. The kids did not mind, they ate it anyway. I had a sore throat Sat. evening and it is still really painful to swallow. Looks like it's my turn now. I hope all of you are feeling well and are happy today.

Feb. 21, 2006

Oh, the middle of winter is not so fun. All of us have been sick. We had a long weekend...Fri thru Mon. off of school and work. But, could we enjoy it and go out and play? No, it went from 67 degrees WEds. to snow and ice 25 degrees Sat. Plus Jake has had a fever since Thurs. And no one has slept thru the night for 3 days, including mom! Tara was sick this morning, so she stayed home from school. Even after we worked hard on doing a poster for her teacher for Teacher Appreciation week. (Good thing it's the whole week). We've been watching the Olympics and getting a kick out of it. Emily is convinced she wants to be an ice dancer when she grows up. (I told her only if I am in charge of the costumes/wardrobe). She's been funny lately she can't quite think of the word she needs so, she says what she thinks is right. For example, her cheeks were stuffed with crackers and she mumbled "Look Mom, a skunk!" I looked around and couldn't figure out what she was talking about then she pointed at her cheeks and said "a skunk".....oh you mean "a chipmunk!" Then later she was making a bead pattern that you iron and melt the beads down to stick together and she said "Mom, will you broom this when I'm done?" You mean iron? oh yes! She's cracking me up. Tara has a front tooth very loose and is working on it hourly. I keep telling her to wait....it will be very obvious that she's missing this one. Oh well, the joys of youth. It's been trickey having 2 three year olds for over a week and Emily is very happy her birthday is tomorrow. I'll send photos of the event for sure. Have a great week everyone.
